Our school-wide goal for this year's Walk-a-Thon is $60,000!

We encourage K-4 students to reach at least $100 in donations/pledges. 5th graders - This is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for 5th grade science camp. All money raised beyond the registration fee will go directly toward your science camp.  We encourage 5th graders to reach at least $365* in donations/pledges (*$40 registration fee + $325 for Science Camp).

Students can win prizes for their fundraising and participation (see the prizes page for more info).  More importantly, the profits from your donations and pledges will go directly back to the students in the following ways:

  • The Alta Vista Home & School Club (AVHSC) provides a number of programs at the school, such as Art Vistas, Clay, Performing Arts/Music, PE, organized lunchtime activities, assemblies, and field trips, just to name a few.
  • AVHSC sponsors fun family events throughout the year, including Back-to-School Movie Night, Multicultural Night, and Fantasy Fair.
  • AVHSC also supplies the funds to purchase much-needed computers and technology for use in the media lab and classrooms, books for the library, and additional classroom supplies for the teachers not otherwise provided by the district.
